Job Description
Pearson is looking for a self-driven Talent Acquisition manager to drive the overall company strategy through talent. As a Talent Acquisition leader, you will be responsible for our recruitment team through planning, developing, and implementing new Talent Acquisition strategies. This position will report to the Director of HR and will be responsible for being a true talent partner to our leadership teams to improve our hiring capabilities at Pearson Online Learning Services (POLS). This role will be a blend of team leadership and leadership role full lifecycle recruiting. Embed the employee value proposition within Pearson's external recruitment strategy to attract the best talent. The Talent acquisition team owns the full life cycle process includes leveraging and/or creating attraction strategies, sourcing of positions, managing candidate pipelines, interviewing and interview process coordination, hiring recommendations through offer acceptance to meet workforce demands.
Talent Team Leadership Responsibilities
- Ability to help an organization with the leadership pipeline, identifying talent, and succession management. Ability to coach leaders on DEI hiring practices.
- Lead Talent Acquisition team and identify process improvements.
- Develop TA KPIs, strategy and forecast
- Creates strategies with business leaders to understand future talent needs along with capabilities in existing team members
- Maintains team standards processes in selection, including candidate screening, interview and offer
- Plan and implement procedures to improve candidate experience Identify candidates through job board databases, online tools, advertisements, social media and existing candidate inventory to define appropriate candidates based upon needs of the hiring managers
- Ensures compliance within the hiring practices to meet all state and federal employment regulations and laws
- Ownership and maintenance of Applicant Tracking System
- Communicates with vendors and third-party administrators
Talent Acquisition Responsibilities
- Have a passion for the recruiting and sourcing with strong experience in candidate development and a focus on delivering an exceptional candidate experience
- Work with hiring managers and internal stakeholders to advise, guide, and educate on market patterns, best practices, and problem resolution
- Identifies Pearson’s resource needs and develops programs to attract the desired talent.
- Partners with HRBP and Business leaders to understand future skill requirements.
- Involved in external recruiting efforts in order to meet the client’s employment needs.
- Develops and places advertisements or advertising campaigns, assesses effectiveness of recruitment activities, and ensures compliance with legal requirements.
- Recruits, interviews and recommends qualified candidates.
- Ensures new hires are successfully integrated via robust onboarding programs.
- Analyze hiring manager requirements, translate those requirements into effective and efficient passive and active candidate generation/attraction plans
- Own the process from posting to offer acceptance (posting/pipeline management, interviewing, selection, offer acceptance processes)
- Lead salary negotiation with candidates to maximize probability of meeting the needs of the candidate and hiring managers
- Help coach hiring managers on the intricacies of interviewing to gain specific insights and conduct debrief with candidates and hiring managers
Qualifications
General Qualifications
- 4-year degree from an accredited institution in Human Resources, Business or equivalent discipline OR appropriate combination of experience and education
- Minimum of 5 years of progressively leadership responsibility within Talent Acquisition with team leadership responsibilities
- Ability to manage high volume, high variety workloads in deadline driven environment while balancing quantity of hire with quality of hire
- Highly skilled with recruiting software tools; Taleo and MS Office/Google
- Well-developed internal consulting skills, exercising strong listening and mediation skills to interpret HR strategies and align department strategies and tactics
- Possess excellent communication and client management skills while displaying the highest degree of integrity and implementing the industry’s best practices (sourcing, recruiting, candidate assessment)
- Above average ability to leverage technology (social media and internet) as a sourcing tool
- Strong process improvement mindset that ensures continuous improvement of processes
- Ability to build strong relationships with team members and work in a collaborative and consultative manner
- Critical thinking, good judgment and the ability to recognize communication needs and opportunities
